North Yorkshire Farmhouse

The aim of this project was to redesign the bedroom areas of this farmhouse prior to the arrival of the couples first daughter. This involved adding fitted storage in the two principle bedrooms and changing the layout of one bedroom and adjacent dressing area to create an additional en suite bedroom.

This young family required the bedroom areas of their home to be brought up to date. To create built in storage in the Master Bedroom one window was blocked up but including antique mirror panels in the wardrobe units meant that this did it result in a lack of light in the room.  The room was decorated in a calm, elegant scheme.

A colourful and fun scheme was designed for the child’s bedroom, including bespoke colourways of fabrics and trimmings.  The wardrobes doors are fabric wrapped cork panels to enable them to be used as pin boards for the child’s artwork as she grows older.  The scheme for this room was designed so that the child wouldn’t grow out of it by using colour and pattern in a fun way that wasn’t too childish that it wouldn’t also suit a teenager. The grey wall colour helps ground the scheme and prevent the scheme from being too busy. The shelving area creates a fun storage solution.
