The goal was to improve the upstairs layout prior to the arrival of the homeowners’ first child, and to modernise the property but retain its warmth and informality. For longevity, the key spending went on the bathrooms and fitted joinery. The child’s bedroom scheme was timeless but fun, with fabric-wrapped cork panels in the wardrobes for artwork and brightly-lacquered furniture.
