Pairing tradition with modernity, modesty with grandeur, this intimate home (built by the owners’ architect son, Tom Brooksbank) has a pared-back, timeless aesthetic that sets off the artwork and antiques. When incorporating furniture and soft-furnishings, Averil re-upholstered some items but left others with the patina of age to achieve her signature balance of old and new.
