Garden Room

This Garden Room was part of a wider scheme of development at the property, creating an entertaining space whilst simultaneously creating a division between the domestic and business areas of this farm. The space needed to be flexible and be able to function on its own for entertaining purposes.

Architecturally this new build took its cues from the surrounding architecture already existing at the site. As the space backs on to the existing garage the brick wall that had been an external wall was left exposed and the new brick pillars to this structure were also left as exposed brick, using reclaimed handmade bricks to match the character.

The 3 bay design of the space helps define the 3 zones of the space but allows an open plan design that is inherently flexible. The finishes were left simple and neutral to tie in with simplicity of the architecture and highlight the materials used, with colour and pattern added through the furnishings.
